As a newspaper reporter, writer and editor during my early years in the profession at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Kansas City Star, I learned to ask the right questions, translate details that readers could easily understand and found avenues on now to strengthen relationships with readers.
When I became the publisher of the Tucson Citizen in the early 1980s and later as a regional newspaper executive, I discovered that no single approach is the right one for every reader, advertiser, employee, and vendor. But I learned that being part of a team, as I was with several of my colleagues in being on the USA TODAY launch team, that you can develop marketing concepts that are suitable in every aspect of every person’s life.
I joined three other marketing entrepreneurs in the early 2000s to form AIMS Worldwide (Accurate Integrated Marketing Solutions) and combined our understanding and knowledge of marketing to develop a one-to-one concept to reach your ideal clients or customers.
The 45 years of media and marketing lessons, my experience as a student at Texas A&M University and my tenure as the founder and founding president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists have given me the insight that each client and customer is different and each requires a unique, one-to-one approach.
